OUR MISSION
TO PREVENT AND END HOMELESSNESS
We Believe In Housing First.
We Believe In Housing First.
Housing First:
We are committed to ending homelessness. We
believe that housing is a human right and that
everyone should have access to safe and
affordable housing.
Affordable Housing:
Our deeply affordable housing project is a real collaboration between the federal government, state, and town. When someone is barely making ends meet, we now have a platform from which they can ascend the ladder. For most of our clients, these homes are arguably their first access to realizing the American Dream.
Will you join us on our quest to prevent and end homelessness?

DEREK
Pacific House helped me get my birth certificate, my Social Security card. All the things I didn’t have when I came to Pacific House. They help me get a job and help me realize that I can take care of myself better.
OUR SYSTEM OF MOVING HOMELESS PEOPLE INTO SAFE AND SUPPORTIVE HOUSING WORKS.
With a home as a foundation, health improves, employment can be maintained and self-sufficiency rises. Our unwavering commitment to help those whose lives have unraveled into homeless makes all of this possible. We're improving lives, ending homelessness, saving taxpayer dollars and making a brighter future for us all.
Ways you can help
-
Each year, inspiring and generous community members develop unique ways to generate additional funding to support Pacific House. Over the years, these dedicated individuals and community groups have created fun, successful, and distinctive fundraisers.
Some Examples:
First Congregational Church chose Pacific House as a recipient of proceeds from their annual Christmas Tree and Wreath Sale.
The 2018 Darien House Tour: Homes with Heart! raised over $70,000 for more than 20 local nonprofit organizations, including Pacific House.
Whether you want to work independently or with a team, we hope you will take the leap and create a fundraiser for Pacific House. We are ready to help, please contact our Director of Development, Michelle Fanwick, P 203-434-6579 or mfanwick@pacifichouse.org.

Pacific House provides breakfast and dinner for about 60 to 80 men daily - with this number rising to about 90 to 110 individuals during the winter months. The cost of this service is almost $250,000 annually.
To help the shelter offset what would be an approximate $250,000 cost, churches, businesses, community organizations and families from all over Lower Fairfield County volunteer one day of each month to prepare and serve dinner at the shelter. Some groups cook the meal at their own facilities, while others serve food purchased from a restaurant or that they have arranged to have donated.
Most participants feel that providing a monthly dinner at the shelter is truly an uplifting experience. They typically come away feeling a new or renewed perspective on their own lives and a heightened camaraderie within their group. Beyond the much-needed financial support, our thoughtful servers deliver a message of caring and respect to these homeless men. Please contact George Keels, Shelter Program Manager, Mobile Phone 914-299-2492 gkeels@pacifichouse.org

As a non-profit organization, Pacific House relies heavily on the kindness and generosity of volunteers. Last year more than 500 people volunteered their time and energy to help realize the mission to empower people in their time of need.
Whether it’s helping to set up a monthly supermarket haul of canned goods, or helping with holiday decorations at the shelter, we welcome and need your help.
For current volunteer opportunities or to share some new ideas on how we can raise funds for our programs, please fill out this form by clicking here, and someone will get back to you within 3-5 business days. -
Did you know that the daily cost of running the emergency shelter is approximately $5,000 and only about half of this is covered by public funds? The balance, about $2,500/day (or about $1MM/yr.), comes from private donors who want to ensure clients have a safe place to go and nutritious meals to eat.
With tough economic times, we applaud and thank our donors who have helped support the shelter with their dollars, time and dedication.
Your gift can make a difference with the Adopt-a-Day program.
Community groups, religious organizations (churches, synagogues, etc.), individuals, families, schools, etc. can adopt a date(s) for $2,500/day.
Pick the date(s) of your choice – perhaps to honor a person’s birthday or special event, etc. – and make your donation at any point during the year.

Our new residents, when they move from shelter into their new-to-them apartment, do not have the necessary things like what a typical college student may need. This is why our community worked together to create The Baskets of Hope project which began in February 2021. As a community, we all want to help each other to grow and be better.
Our wonderful friends at First Congregational Church of Greenwich started a fund to purchase items and assemble baskets that typically include kitchen set-up essentials and bed and bath items. More than 30 baskets have been delivered and distributed to date.
